Urban health capacities assessment and response: integrating formal and informal health systems in Enugu State, Nigeria

Local authorities are seeking to better integrate formal and informal health provision to improve service delivery in Enugu State, Nigeria. In 2025, three multi-stakeholder teams conducted a participatory self-assessment of capacities to strengthen this process, using the World Health Organization (WHO) Urban health capacity assessment and response resource kit. This case study captures key learning and reflections from the process.
